HE 104TH AVENUE PIRUS The 104th avenue pirus are a predominately African American street gang founded in the city of Inglewood California in the early 1970’s. The Avenue Pirus were the first gang outside of Compton California to represent Piru. Their territory is roughly between Crenshaw Blvd and Van Ness near 104th Street and 109th street in the south. Most members of the gang claim 104th Street but they also claim 108th and 109th as their territory. Over time the gang has formed different cliques. 104th, 108th and 109th. The Avenue Pirus often wear the color burgundy/red which often represents what most Pirus wear. compton-piru-600.jpeg Allies and Rivals While in the streets of Inglewood California, the Avenue Pirus have formed a strong alliance with the Inglewood Family Gang (IFG). The Avenue Pirus are also allied with the Inglewood Neighborhood Pirus, Center Park Bloods, the Crenshaw Mafia Gang and the Weirdos Gangster Bloods. They are rivals of the Rollin 90s Neighborhood Crips, 111 Neighborhood Crips, 112 Neighborhood Crips, 115 Neighborhood Crips, 104 Hard Time Hustler Crips, Osage Legend Crips, 102 Budlong Gangster Crips, 102 Raymond Avenue Crips, Imperial Village Crips and the Tongan Crips Gang. skyline.png Modern Times Bloods & Crips was a duet rap group formed in the 90’s by Redrum 781 and Ronnie Phillips. They had a huge impact in the 1990’s. The Bloods rapped on the “B-Side” and the Crips rapped on the “C-Side”. They released their debut album called “Bagin On Wax” in 1993. Redrum 781, Bloody Mary and Lil Leak were all affiliated with Avenue Piru and were in the rap group. Bagin on Wax released three singles and three videos. The singles were Bagin on Wax, Piru Love, and Steady Drippin. The album was very popular selling over 500,000 copies worldwide. The Death of a Legend Bloody Mary, one of the members in the rap group Bloods & Crips who was also affiliated with Avenue Piru, made two albums after Bloods & Crips. Those albums were “She’s Dangerous” and “Day Of Resurrection”. She was later signed to Death Row Records by Suge Knight. On November 19, 2006, Bloody Mary was riding her motorcycle and unintentionally became involved in somebody else's high-speed chase. Mary’s bike was hit by a truck trying to flee from the police, and as a result she was placed into a brain-dead state and subsequently her life support was pulled. Bloody Mary was killed in a motorcycle accident in Compton CA. Now The W/S Avenue Piru Gang are in the streets of Inglewood. They do many different things to try and get money like selling drugs, anything to help the gang strive. They also enjoy doing criminal activities like stealing, robbing and tagging up opposition walls. The 104th Avenue Pirus which is the largest clique in the gang normally stores the more experienced and familiar members of the gang. These are the people who have been with the Avenue Pirus through thick and thin and have been in the gang for many years. The 108th Pirus stores the people who do their best for the gang, the ones who enjoy going outside and are not afraid of what might happen. They put a lot of the money they get into the gang to help it strive. These are the people who have been with the gang for a few years but are still proving their full capability and want a high reputation. The 109th Avenue Pirus are the newer faces in the area. They are usually younger and try to do what they can for the gang and to get their name out there. These people usually don't have a job yet or don't make enough money so they do what they can to prove themselves worthy of a high and respected spot in the gang.
